Mellon FCS Students Turn Entrepreneurship Into Impact

Mellon FCS Students Turn Entrepreneurship Into Impact

Each year, students in the Mellon Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Enrichment program take part in a rigorous, “Shark Tank”–style competition as part of their entrepreneurship unit. Throughout the process, students design a product, develop a marketing plan, manage sales, and pitch their ideas while gaining real-world experience in creativity, collaboration, and business fundamentals.

Through product sales to Mellon students and staff, the class raised a record-breaking $2,200, which was donated to The Foster Love Project, a local organization that provides essential goods, services, and support to children in foster care.

We are proud of our Mellon students for combining innovation, teamwork, and compassion to make a difference in our community.
